Dear Tess,
Happy New Year! It is a clean slate, an empty page, an opportunity to start fresh. I'm not a huge fan of New Year's resolutions, but I do love the beginning of a new year. It is a wonderful time to look back at past accomplishments and to look forward, to set goals and to make plans.
Know someone who is not doing as well as they were last year? Have a loved one who could use extra assistance? Why not make time to talk with them about getting some help to make life easier? There is definitely a trend happening. Since the beginning of 2009 we have seen several of our clients make life changing decisions, and we have met several new clients who have decided that, yes, they could use some help. People call on Senior Helpers for someone they can rely upon and trust. If you know someone who could use a hand this year, call any time, or email me.
Senior Helpers makes life easier and better for families. Why struggle with caring for your loved one? Call in a professional caregiver to get the care you need - temporarily or long term. We're here to help make life easier. This month we are featuring articles on Fall Prevention, Places to get a Free Flu Shot, Identity Theft, a hearty chicken bean soup recipe and more. We're watching for news and events to help you and your loved ones enjoy your life a little more.
Sincerely,
Tess & Mark Bockes

Simple Steps Ensure Better Identity Theft Protection for Seniors by Lorie Witkop
While many people tend to focus on high-tech methods in offering identity theft protection for seniors, some old-fashioned methods still remain. The easiest way for the wrong person to get his hands on your personal information is by stealing your wallet or purse. Keep a close eye on your purse or wallet, and only carry the cards you need. Many people have a habit of carrying their Social Security cards with them, but this card should be left securely at home.
