Greensgrow Philadelphia Project is Going Whole Hog for Kensington on Saturday, Nov 21, 2009

Greensgrow Philadelphia
Project is hosting its second annual Whole Hog Event on Sat., Nov 21, 5-8PM at the
Phila. Brewing Company, Amber St & Martha St., Kensington!
Proceeds from the event will support the Kensington
Community Fund, this year specifically targeting our Community Kitchen Project located
at St. Michaels Lutheran Church on Trenton Ave. at Cumberland St.
Greensgrow is implementing this project
to serve as a stimulus for local economic development based on the preparation
and sale of whole and healthy food.
In addition to offering the use of a fully equipped, commercial kitchen
to established and start up food-based businesses, the Kensington Community
Kitchen will act as a resource for the community by hosting workshops on food
preservation, smart cooking and food preparation, small business organization, food
safety and handling and this year will serve as home base for our 2010 Low
Income CSA!
We
need your help to meet our program goals.
Funds raised will support the outfitting of the kitchen with commercial
cooking equipment, an appropriate ventilation system and a video system to
allow us to tape our educational programs for use at later dates.
